A clothing exchange is a great idea, bringing the whole reuse mantra back into the reduce, reuse, recycle meme. Bring clothes you no longer wear, take new ones away – shopping for free – with drinks! Love it! Which is why I jumped at the opportunity to help organise a recurring monthly clothing exchange at my fab new local – The Grafton.

The first one will actually happen while I’m away on holiday on Saturday 20 October. I leave today and will be mostly out of range until November. So go, get some new threads for free, check out the new pub and meet some lovely people.

grafton clothing exchange house rules

£2 entry
(with or without items to exchange)

Item levels:
3 : High value items; such as known designers
2 : Standard; most high street and vintage
1 : Basics; tees etc
(All accessories, shoes, etc will be divided amongst these levels as well)

Maximum 10 items.

No pierced jewelry or undergarments.

All items must be adult size, clean, stain free, and in generally good condition; a missing button on a nice item is ok and can be marked as such, just use judgement.

Bring items to the check in desk where 1, 2, or 3 tokens will be given for each item brought based on what level they are. The item will be labeled the same level and put on display with the rest.

After choosing new items bring them to the check out desk to exchange them for the number of tokens they are worth.

Remainder tokens may be used at later events. Design of tokens will change month to month but we will keep a gallery of previous tokens to check against.

They will be happening the 3rd Saturday of every month so I’ll see you at the one on 17 November. In the meantime enjoy your autumn!
